Christie S. | Portrait
30 May 2010 • 3:35 pm | Rexburg, Idaho
Canon Rebel XS | 38MM | F/ 10.0 – 1/250 | ISO: 200 | EV: 0
This was taken across the street from the Rexburg Temple. The blue sky, the green field, and Christie could only mean a good picture. I’ll be honest, I took this picture with intent to edit it. Christie hates having her picture taken but she was a great sport about the whole thing. Thanks Christie for putting up with all my crazy ideas.
Editing:
I did camera raw processing by boosting colors and adding a vignette. In photoshop I used the “boost” action and “oh snap” action. I masked Christie out of the “Oh snap” action because I only liked what it did to the sky and field. Then I added my logo.
Stacie & Justin. | Group (Engagement)
31 May 2010 • 3:35 pm | Rexburg, Idaho
Canon Rebel XS | 45MM | F/ 5.0 – 1/60 | ISO: 200 | EV: 0
Stacie is my cousin and she is engaged. She asked me to take her pictures and with the decent weather on Memorial Day, I figured it was a great opportunity to take her pictures and use them for this assignment at the same time. We had a lot of fun and it was my first engagement shoot.
Editing:
I did camera raw processing to boost colors, vignette, and fill lights to bring a bit back into their eyes. I then used reduced amounts of the “boost” and “oh snap” actions to help the colors pop even more. I enhanced their teeth and eyes as well and removed a few blemishes.

Canon Rebel XS | 28MM | F/ 11.0 – 1/320 | ISO: 200 | EV: 0
This was taken across the street from the Rexburg Temple. The blue sky, the green field, and Christie could only mean a good picture. I’ll be honest, I took this picture with intent to edit it. Editing:
I did camera raw processing by boosting colors and adding a vignette. I also used fill lights because her face was under exposed. In photoshop I used the “boost” action and “oh snap” action. I masked Sam’s arms, pants, and head out of the “Oh snap” action because I only liked what it did to the sky and field and her pink shirt. Then I added my logo.
Joe the Worker | Environmental
31 May 2010 • 3:35 pm | Rexburg, Idaho
Canon Rebel XS | 48MM | F/ 8.0 – 1/25 | ISO: 800 | EV: 0
Joe had to work so he didn’t bother looking at the camera, but that’s okay I’m sure. I was actually desperate for an environmental picture and going to Broulims was the best I could think of. In broulims, I adjusted the white balance to account for lighting, then I adjusted my f-stop to get as much as I could in focus then I asked for his name and said, “Thanks.”
Editing:
In camera raw I brought down the temperature slider to remove the extreme yellow tint on the picture, boosted the colors, and added a vignette. Then I just used the “boost” action in photoshop to defog the picture, added my logo and then saved.
